Tyler is the founder of Sunset KIDS, a children's music company offering interactive music classes to get kids moving, dancing, and appreciating music. Classes start with guitar based sing-alongs and offer hands-on experience with rhythm sticks, shaker eggs, and other instruments. The focus is on gross & fine motor skills, rhythm, alphabet, colors, and shapes.
Wednesdays, 10:00 to 10:30 AM
During this class, students will sing traditional children’s songs and learn many new ones. They will have the opportunity to play with a large variety of simple instruments including tambourines, cymbals, maracas, triangles and different types of drums. Students will also interact with puppets, use rhythm sticks, bean bags and streamers. Many of the activities in this class will promote cognitive development through the use of numbers, colors, shapes and letters.
Free for members, $10/non-members
Thursdays, 3:45 to 4:15 PM
In this class children are introduced to the basics of dance. Classes include a warm-up circle, stretching games, across the floor activities, imaginative dance, partner dance and free dance. We'll use our imaginations to be animals in the jungle and fish in the sea. Movement activities will help build gross motor skills allowing children to work on strength, balance and coordination. We will introduce children to music from around the world and they will have the opportunity to use fun props like bean bags, scarves, and rhythm sticks.

Adventure Days Summer Camps at Play Haven!

Who: Hosted by early childhood educators Emma Stickel, Lyndsey Hawkinson, Beth Fong, and Sheryl Tecson.
Cost: Single Day: $100, Full Week: $475
Campers will have full access to the the Play Haven play space, including the indoor rock climbing wall and outdoor play area.
Our summer camp mission is to create a stimulating and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow together while exploring dynamics of alternating themes.
We will also explore the surrounding areas of Play Haven going on nature walks. Some favorite walking field trips include the petting zoo and vegetable farm behind Laguna Honda Hospital, the grass field behind Forest Hill Station, and West Portal Playground.
We will have a nap room and nap mats for any afternoon-napping campers. Campers should bring a daily lunch, water bottle, change of clothes, diapers/wipes if needed, and bedding/pillow if they will be napping. We will provide the children with a morning and afternoon snack.
Play Haven is a public play space and is NOT a nut-free zone. Please let us know if your child does have any allergies so we can be diligent in keeping them safe.
We will be keeping the number of campers relatively low in order to maintain a healthy staff to child ratio and promote an ideal learning/exploring space. Once our camp is full we will not be accepting any additional children.
Space is limited, so please contact us soon to register!
