Play Haven summer camps are designed to create a stimulating and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow together while exploring dynamics of our theme Land, Sea Sky and Space!

Each week campers will participate in various projects exploring our Earth and beyond. We will study the science, art and beauty of our natural landscapes and outer space, and discuss the differences between various parts of North America and other continents, as well as the types of plants and animals in each setting.

We will also explore the surrounding areas of Play Haven going on nature walks and exploring the landscape around us. Some favorite walking field trips include the petting zoo and vegetable farm behind Laguna Honda Hospital, the grassy area behind Forest Hill Station, and West Portal Playground. Each week will end with a cooking project based on the children’s interests during the week.

As always, our goal is to create a safe and fun environment. We want their experiences to promote independence while working together as a team and forming meaningful friendships!

Campers should bring a daily lunch, water bottle, change of clothes, diapers/wipes if needed, and bedding/pillow if they will be napping. We will provide the children with a morning and afternoon snack of fresh fruit and crackers. Play Haven is a public play space and is NOT a nut-free zone. Please let us know if your child does have any allergies so we can be diligent in keeping them safe.

The number of campers will be kept relatively low to maintain a healthy staff to child ratio and promote an ideal learning/exploring space. Once the camp is full we will not be accepting any additional children.

These spots will not last long, so if you are interested please sign up soon.
